DESIGNER. DREAMER. CREATOR. MAKER.
My interest in art started at an early age, and I spent a lot of my time drawing and coloring as a child. My mom was an avid sewer and crafter, who taught me how to sew at an early age. My interest in art and sewing quickly developed into a love for fashion, and I began making my own clothes and expressing myself through style and fashion.
My main focus was on arts and crafts throughout school, so it was an obvious choice to pursue fashion design after graduating high school. I obtained a degree in fashion design, and have spend 10+ years in the apparel industry, primarily in product development.
I taught myself to knit back in high school, and my interest in it has gone in and out over the years. Like a lot of people, I needed a hobby to fill time and de-stress during the pandemic, so I picked up my needles and dove head first back into knitting! It has now become my main hobby during my free time.
Handmade Renee combines my love of crafting with my technical pattern making and construction skills. Focusing on abstract and geometric prints, and heavy on black with pops of bright colors. I also gravitate towards textural elements and technical fabrications.
